White Paint

Not three thousand colours. Just the ones worth living with.

6 colours

White is never just white. The undertone decides everything, and it is why a white that looked perfect on a chart can turn grey, yellow or faintly blue once it is on your wall.

Our whites are edited down to six, and they fall into two camps.

The warm whites and off whites carry a soft cream or beige undertone, so they keep their softness in rooms that get cool, indirect light. Faded Linen is the creamiest of them, a true off white. Feather is subtler, warm without reading beige. Blanket Fort is airy and paper-soft, the warm white to reach for across a whole house.

The cool and pure whites go the other way. Ghost is light and ethereal with a cool edge. Fresh Sheets is soft and chalky, crisp without tipping clinical. Just White is pure, with no lean in any direction, which is what makes it our pick for ceilings and trims.

Warm or cool is less a style choice than a response to your light. In Australia, north-facing rooms get the strong, warm sun and can carry a cooler white comfortably. South-facing rooms and anywhere that sits in shade usually want a warm white or an off white, or the room reads cold.

Every colour is Australian-made, in interior low sheen, semi gloss and exterior low sheen. See it on your own wall before you commit. Start with a sample.
